🌱 About the Role
As a Special Education Teacher at Lilac, you will play an essential role in shaping the learning trajectories of students with diverse and intensive needs. You will design individualized curriculum pathways, oversee the implementation of goals, collaborate directly with BCBAs and the Site Director, and serve as the teacher of record for your caseload.
We operate a year-round program, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., in an on-site, highly supportive environment.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
Staff Leadership
Provide ongoing PD and coaching to Lead Techs and Behavior Technicians
Delegate effectively to maintain instructional and behavioral treatment fidelity
Collaborate with the BCBA on student objectives, programming, and documentation
Student Support
Identify student needs and design SDI, accommodations, and supports
Prepare lessons, resources, progress reports, and IEP documentation
Monitor, assess, and respond to performance and data trends
Implement physical management as required (with training provided)
Maintain an inclusive, safe, predictable classroom environment
Families & Facility
Communicate with parents about progress, goals, and next steps
Research, modify, and implement curriculum
Participate in maintaining a clean and safe facility
Perform additional duties as assigned

🎓 Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
Washington teaching certificate with Special Education endorsement
Or ability to obtain within 30 days
Current CPR/First Aid certification
Or ability to obtain within 30 days
Training or willingness to train in QBS Safety-Care (crisis management + physical intervention)
💪 Physical Requirements
Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, stand, and sit for extended periods
Ability to lift/push/pull/carry 50 lbs
Ability to run, walk, and physically respond in crisis situations
Ability to climb a six-foot fence if required for safety
Ability to perform escorts, holds, and restraints with moderate to high levels of force (training provided)
